A remote and immersive journey through Namibia’s most spectacular wilderness areas.
This itinerary offers an immersive journey through Namibia’s contrasting landscapes, combining remote desert wilderness, private reserves, iconic safari destinations and the country’s lesser-explored river regions into one extraordinary adventure.
Begin in the Namib Desert at Wolwedans Plains Camp, where vast open landscapes, towering dunes and endless skies create a true sense of wilderness. Explore this remarkable environment through scenic drives, desert sundowners, guided walks and e-bike excursions, discovering the unique beauty and tranquillity of the NamibRand region.
Continue by self-drive to Otjiwa Private Nature Reserve before heading north towards Onguma Tented Camp, located on the edge of Etosha National Park. Here, experience some of Namibia’s finest wildlife viewing, with game drives, bush walks and sundowner experiences offering opportunities to encounter elephants, lions, rhino and a variety of plains game.
The journey then moves into Namibia’s remote northern waterways, following the Kavango River and Bwabwata National Park before reaching Nkasa Rupara National Park. Explore this untouched wetland wilderness by mokoro, boat and vehicle, surrounded by abundant birdlife and wildlife.
Fly into the heart of the Namib Desert and experience the extraordinary landscapes of Wolwedans.
Experience exceptional wildlife viewing at Onguma Tented Camp, with game drives into Etosha National Park.
Journey through Namibia’s lush river regions, from the Kavango River to Bwabwata National Park, where boat cruises, wildlife encounters and changing landscapes reveal a different side of the country.
Discover the remote wetlands of Nkasa Rupara National Park, exploring by mokoro, guided walks and game drives.
The best time for this itinerary is May to October, during Namibia’s dry season, when cooler temperatures, clear skies and excellent wildlife viewing conditions make it ideal for exploring the desert and national parks. The itinerary is possible year-round, with November to April offering greener landscapes, migratory birds and newborn wildlife, although remote roads may be more challenging after heavy rains.
