Etosha National Park is one of the country’s main wildlife destinations. Its large salt pan and surrounding waterholes provide good opportunities to see a range of animals, including elephants, lions, giraffes and both black and white rhino. Other regions of Namibia offer further variety. The south is home to Fish River Canyon, one of the largest canyons in the world, while Damaraland features rocky terrain and notable geological formations alongside ancient rock engravings. When to Visit Namibia
Namibia is a year-round destination, with each season offering something different. The dry winter months (June–October) are best for safari, with excellent game viewing around waterholes. The greener summer season (November–April) brings superb birdwatching, dramatic landscapes, and fewer visitors, along with attractive low-season rates and a more exclusive feel. April and May are ideal for hiking Fish River Canyon, while coastal fishing and tiger fishing in the Zambezi are at their peak during summer.
