This rugged chain of mountains span North Africa from the Atlantic coast through Algeria, Tunisia and Morocco. Morocco is home to the High Atlas, the most imposing section which features the tallest peak, Mount Toubkal at just over 4000 metres high.
This part of Morocco is beautiful with green valleys, dramatic peaks, old caravan trading posts and Berber villages dotting the scenery filled with mud-built houses and a traditional way of life. Hikers of all abilities will be in heaven here whether it is following paths well-trodden over the centuries or scaling precipitous heights as an experienced climber.
The atmosphere here is cooler air and a more peaceful way of life, a far cry from the heat and hustle of Morocco or the endless dunes of the Sahara. Come to the high Atlas for beauty, relaxation and to rest and recharge.
