With year-round warmth, sandy beaches and beautiful dive sites, Aqaba is the perfect place for a few days’ relaxation. Located right in the south of Jordan, Aqaba is close to the border with Egypt, Israel and Saudi Arabia. The beaches here may not be huge but they are pristine and there are great opportunities for snorkelling and diving. King Abdullah II himself is a keen diver and he places great importance on the preservation of the reefs.
The best diving is found around Tala Bay, a smaller town a few minutes south of Aqaba. For those who don’t dive there is some good snorkelling and the sea is safe and calm for swimming.
